As a makeup artist my professional aesthetic has always been simple and elegant beauty. Whether it’s for brides or for every day wear, I love a clean and glowing skin, a healthy flush, volumes of lashes, and the perfect nude lip. As I’ve transitioned to being a freelance makeup artist full time and been able to work with incredible creatives, the boundaries of my creativity continued to stretch. That’s how I found myself experimenting with bolder lines and colors. First, I practiced on the models during editorial photoshoots and lately I’ve been practicing on myself.

Remember that, when it comes to makeup, there really aren’t any rules. Play around, have fun, and don’t beat yourself up when you have to take a q-tip to fix an errant line. What I learned in makeup school was that it isn’t really how perfect you get the makeup, it’s about knowing how to fix your mess ups.
