#Lipstories: Desert Trip

If you’ve visited a Sephora lately you may have noticed the wall of colorful lipsticks from the brand’s #Lipstories collection. Each bullet is beautifully decorated with an image that is meant to illicit am emotion related to that specific shade. The packaging is very little plastic and mostly durable paper, making it a sustainable alternative to many lipsticks on the market.

A #Lipstories lipstick will be either matte, metallic, or creamy and we will be testing out a new one every week. Rankings will be given based on wearability, ease of application, and overall feel on the lips. Tune in every week to see our results!

This week we test-drove:

Desert Trip

This beautiful violet is so vibrant. It will look better on you the darker your complexion is. Those of you that are more on the fair side may enjoy the drama of this bold lip but it may look like hypothermia the fairer you are.

The creamy texture of this lipstick makes it feel wearable for any occasion but it does wear off quickly. Don’t expect to make it through your first cup of coffee with your pout intact. Reapplication is necessary, as is lip liner to get sharp edges. Another way to have this shade look stunning is to add it in the middle of your lips and blur it out with your finger. This will create a violet stain instead of a full color effect.
