#Lipstories: Popsicle Lips

If you’ve visited a Sephora lately you may have noticed the wall of colorful lipsticks from the brand’s #Lipstories collection. Each bullet is beautifully decorated with an image that is meant to illicit am emotion related to that specific shade. The packaging is very little plastic and mostly durable paper, making it a sustainable alternative to many lipsticks on the market.

A #Lipstories lipstick will be either matte, metallic, or creamy and we will be testing out a new one every week. Rankings will be given based on wearability, ease of application, and overall feel on the lips. Tune in every week to see our results!

This week we test-drove:

Popsicle Lips

This shade from the #Lipstories line is the perfect raspberry popsicle color, hence the name. The aspect that I love the most is that it is an adaptable color. One swipe gives you a deep warm pink hue while layering it on gives a bright pop of red to your pout. This can make it a hit or miss for all of the skin tones out there in the world.

When it comes to application, you’ll run into the same issues as you would with any red cream lipstick. The edges are tough to get perfect using the bullet alone. A lipliner to clean the lip edges will be needed or a square brush, like this one I used, can suffice in a pinch.

Overall, the texture and color are beautiful but this isn’t a shade that I’m gaga about.
